Common Core State Standards - This initiative is a collaborative effort by the State Governors' Association and Council of Chief Sate School Officers. The goal is to develop standards for learning that can be used in all states.

StudentsFirst.org An initiative started by Michelle Rhee the former Chancelor of the Washington, DC schools. "Under her leadership, the worst performing school district in the country became the only major city system to see double-digit growth in both their state reading and state math scores in seventh, eighth and tenth grades over three years."

American Association of School Librarians - From 2007 - 2009 the AASL developed three resources which included guidelines from P21 and the National Education Technology Standards for Students (NETS-S). They can be found on the AASL website.
